The RescuEAN pod is a lifesaving aid for the diver finding themselves in a situation where an oxygen kit is unavailable, already being used or exhausted and it has been designed for use with a dive accident patient whether conscious, semi-conscious or unconscious.
The pod is easily recognisable and is light and compact enough to be carried always.
It is simple to use as is connects directly to the rescue diver’s Nitrox cylinder low pressure hose once removed from a BCD or dry suit.
Please see the scenario and setting up video on this site.
An internal valve controls the O2 enriched Nitrox mix to be given to a dive patient via an oral/nasal mask with an oxygen inlet at 15Lpm or 25Lpm.
The pod is constructed of 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel, plastic, nylon and rubber - making the pod robust and corrosion resistant.
The ‘O’ rings within these valve assemblies are recommended for use with O2 and Medical equipment (within the temperature range it will be used in).
When in water, the pod becomes negatively buoyant and quickly drains, on return to land.
Recommended maintenance:
After each use the pod should be rinsed in clean, fresh water and blown through before storing.
If not used regularly in training scenarios, please test the pod every three months to ensure it is in good working order.
NOTE:
This pod is fitted with our standard low pressure hose connector that works
with Seatec and Apeks LP Hoses.
There are still a few LP hoses that will not work with the pod - if in doubt, please
email us at customerservices@rescuean.com
with details of your hose makers and we can advise you.
